In “2015 IYL_International Year of Light and Light-Based Technologies”, with the inspiration of the festival “Luci d’Artista”, the PoliTo Light Contest has the goal to select a preliminary design for a temporary light installation for the Corte d’Onore of the Valentino Castle, the historic and representative building of the Polytechnic of Turin.

This initiative wants to stimulate students to realize projects about light, PoliTo in Light is open to all students enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree of the Polytechnic of Turin, they can participate individually or in groups, presenting their project by October the 15th 2015.
Projects will be evaluated by a jury composed of teachers and personnel of the University, representatives of the various partners who cooperate with the proponents and two artists, authors of the works included in the circuits of “Luci d’Artista” in Turin and Salerno.

Winners will have access to a workshop which includes various activities (including a study trip to Lyon at the Fête des Lumières. The workshop will include a practical phase to build the prototype of a project.

The initiative is supported by the City of Turin and Iren, as well as by some companies in the sector: iGuzzini and Elettrogruppo ZeroUno.
The project is sponsored by the Italian Association of Lighting (Aidi) and the Valle d’Aosta and Piedmont section of the Italian Association of Electrical, Electronics, Automation, Information and Communication Technology (AEIT).
