How to make a lighting design

Cesvip, a society that organize vocational trainings in Emilia Romagna (Italy), promotes in alliance with Ravenna Teatro (Teatro Stabile d’Innovazione) the high level vocational training called:
How to make a lighting design.

The training will produce to the participants the technical expertise to employ the role of lighting designer.
The course will include the following teachings: the role of lighting designer, security on stage, how to make a light plan, the light inside the performance, the light inside the art, an overlook on contemporary theatre performances and creators.
At the end of the training, the participants will be able to develop professionally from the role of light technician/theatre electrician to the role of Light Designer. This means that tey will be able to “think”,
to set up, to activate the lighting plan more suitable for the scene considered. They will add the planning skills to their manual and executing skills.
The teachers of the high vocational training will be: Vincent Longuemare (Lighting designer, Special Prize Ubu 2007 “for having marked since many years with his lighting projects the Albe’s performances, with a spirit of set designer that completes the director’s work"), Davide “Magic” Martire (computer programmer), Enrico Isola (Ravenna Teatro and Teatro delle Albe Technical Manager), Renata Molinari (dramatist, theatre expert and Dramaturgy teacher at Theatre School “Scuola d’Arte Drammatica Paolo Grassi” in Milano), Serena Simoni (art critic).
The participants should have a high school leaving qualification and must work or have worked as theatre electricians.
The Course will Start in November 2008
Duration: 218 hours
