FESTIVAL OF LIGHT

Original project by the Academy of Light in collaboration with the cultural portal Luceonline.it
the first FESTIVAL OF LIGHT – MONTONE (PG)
6, 7 and 8 on June 2008

Three days it devoted to the world of Light with events and initiatives on the whole territory of Montone.
The manifestation wants to investigate the luminous phenomenon in all its fields, since a long time there are many popular traditions and liturgical festivities all over the world about this theme, since 239 A.C. it existed the festival of " Winter solstice ", called "of the light that grows, of the Sun birth "; this festival was defined: photà, festival of lights.

Montone, in occasion of the Umbria Film Festival 2003, has already had the possibility to have as a guest one of the great masters of light in the cinematography field, Vittorio Storaro, that will be present during the Festival of Light with some elements of the photographic exhibition "Writing with Light".
The fundamental objective of the event whose title is "Festival of Light", organized by the Academy of Light (non-profit association engaged in promoting and spreading the culture of light) in collaboration with the cultural portal Luceonline.it, is to transform the ancient Medieval Village in creative workspace, starting from general considerations about the perception and the characteristics of the luminous phenomenon, also with a comparison, creating new opportunities of study and meeting.
The idea is to bring out ideas and to favour the synergy between cognitive processes, formative processes and technological development.

In this way Light becomes sign full of meaning, able to communicate that universe of emotions, feelings, vibrations, thoughts that constitute the art expressive instrument.
Many events in the program:
Seminars of study about Light in its lighting engineering applications, light installations, visual arts, didactic areas, conventions, guided visits, books, web-sites.
