Designing for Opera

Masterclass, workshops with theatre directors, theatre designers,

architects, lighting and sound designers, interaction designers and visual directors.

The Study Centre Scenic Arts (SCSA) and International Lighting Academy organises professional training through a network of seminars, internships, workshops, and live and filmed performances held in Italy and other European member states. Our principal aim is to foster work opportunities and promote creativity, technical skills and know-how among professionals throughout Europe.

Our programme for 2016 includes a series of seminars and workshops to be held at TEATRO DELL’OPERA in ROME once a month from May to December.

The programme puts into practice the following objectives: to facilitate dialogue and networking between directors, scenographers, architects and businesses servicing the sector; to develop opportunities for vocational training and research into technologies.

The topics addressed will be subdivided into categories: we want to emphasize just how much architectural scenarios become fertile narrative terrain for scenic arts in general and therefore provide a cue to investigate the dualism between architecture and scenography, in order to understand the dissimilarities and the contrasts as well as their parallels and convergence.
